Buddy’s Pizza: Be there, and be square!
Established in the 1930s as a neighborhood tavern, Buddy’s Pizza first introduced their famous square pizza to Detroit in 1946. Since that time Buddy’s has grown to become known as the home of the Original Detroit-Style Pizza. Buddy’s came to Hippo Marketing to build a website that strengthen their brand and stay true to their history.
Hippo Marketing created a responsive website for Buddy’s that reflected their company values and brand. Buddy’s Pizza branding is rooted in their 70+ year history as home to the Original Detroit-Style Pizza. Everything on their menu is made daily from scratch using only the freshest ingredients. Their website design was influenced by their historic building, Detroit roots, rich history, community involvement, and, of course, their delicious square pizza.
Considering their status as a “Detroit Original,” stock photography featuring your typical pizza was not going to work for Buddy’s. To help strengthen their brand, Hippo Marketing captured photos and video of the staff, building, and food. To take it a step further, we incorporated images of the founders, staff, and customers from the 60's for use on their website and social media.

Hippo Marketing communicates Buddy’s Pizza’s brand messaging through visual elements including graphic design, photography, and video production. We continue to collaborate with Buddy’s Pizza on the creation of site content and local events like their recent opening of a new Ann Arbor location.
