At Hippo Marketing, we believe that marketing is a dialogue, not a moment. In fact, when it’s done right, marketing is like saying, “Hello” to your current and potential customers! We want to help you start a conversation with your audience, and what better way to start that conversation than with a friendly, “Hello!”? Here are some of our favorite ways to do just that:
1. Write for your audience and post on a regular schedule. Build a portfolio of work that shows your audience who you are, what you’re passionate about, and what you can do for them. These blogs and written pieces should tell your customers that you are active, there for them, and valuable.
2. Email Blasts. One of the best ways to start a conversation with your audience is to consistently get in front of them with an email newsletter. Send a “Welcome” email to new subscribers and daily/weekly/monthly “update” emails to stay top of mind. Emails are your way to have a less formal conversation with your audience about what they expect of you and what you can do for them. They also serve as an additional means to make connections and increase conversions among your client base.
3. Ads. While it may not be the first thing you think of when brainstorming ways to say “Hello” to your audience, paid advertising is a great way to get your message in front of potential customers. Facebook Ads and Google AdWords in particular provide tools to test and run reports on your ads, enabling you to tweak the copy and creative so that you can deliver the most relevant message your audience.
So, whether it’s through blogs, ads, emails, or even social media, starting and maintaining a dialogue with your audience is the best thing you can do for retention and engagement. How do you say, “Hello!” to your audience?
